On Wednesday 31 January 2001 the Foundation's new film production, the documentary "Potsherds... of the Black Sea - Hellenism in Bulgaria" was presented at "Hellenic Cosmos".

In this documentary we return to the coast of Bulgaria, to the cities Sozopolis (Sozopol), Anchialos (Pomerie), Mesembria (Nesubur) and Varna and meet all those that stayed behind and preserved their Greek language. The residents of these territories, who are the leading characters of the documentary, present us with snapshots from their daily life.

The President of the Foundation Mr. Lazaros Efraimoglou addressed those that attended the event, and said among others "...We present you with great joy the first activity of the Foundation which deals with the activities of Hellenism at the coast of the Black Sea of the present day Bulgaria, in an area that is not very well known to the Greek public...".
Then, the audience watched the documentary and the event came to an end with a short speech of the director Mr. Aris Fotiadis, who characteristically said: "Hellenism must be seen as a process. That is the reason why it is good to approach it focusing on man and not just trying to take decent photographs of the past. But we must see its continuity in relation with other cultures, because Hellenism flourished at the same time with other cultures". In conclusion, he thanked the Foundation and its President.
